15th Anniversary Concert:
Voyages – Star Wars and Respighi’s Fountains

Friday, April 14, 2023 at 7:30pm
Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall

Chamber Orchestra of New York celebrates its 15th anniversary in a program titled “Voyages”, highlighting portraits of historical characters who embark on journeys that proved transformative. The evening will feature John Williams’ complete Star Wars Suite and begins with Respighi’s Fountains of Rome, as the orchestra sheds light on the great influence of Respighi’s music on the film scores of John Williams. Violinist Salvatore Greco is the soloist for the U.S. Premiere of Salvatore Di Vittorio’s Voyages of Aeneas, a work commissioned and world-premiered this past January by Teatro Massimo Opera of Palermo, Italy. The Lorenzo de Medici Award, for Humanistic and Cultural Leadership, will be awarded to Mr. Steve Menzies by the Chamber Orchestra of New York.
